A group event is the more accessible option for Kamont, whose private readings are booked up through fall of 2023! What to Expect “A private reading,” Kamont points out, “is a very personal thing.” His private readings, either in his Easton office or at clients’ homes, go until they’re truly tapped out, often for two or three hours. Gallery readings are also a great way to dip your foot in, to see if you feel comfortable with a given medium and their style. “With grief, we tend to look inward at what happened to us, and it’s so healing to sit with others who are dealing with the exact same thing.” “People come up after a group and tell me it touched them and gave them closure,” Kamont says. He can personally relay impressions to around 15 or 20 audience members, but the other attendees benefit from the experience even if they don’t hear from anyone directly. With audiences of 30–100 people, Kamont’s group readings cast a wide net for communicative spirits. Nine times out of 10, it ends up resonating with clients in a powerful way. Like a skeptic might have to suspend disbelief to fully engage in a medium reading, Kamont has learned to trust and believe in the impulses that overtake him, even when they have him embodying a bossy persona and interrupting a client to give a pushy message, or voicing something that seems totally out of left field. For example, “When a spirit shows me something like the Road Runner from Looney Tunes, that usually tells me that somebody was rushing to get by their side before they passed.” Instead, he’ll receive impressions in his mind that draw on his own memories, visual inventory and emotions, and translate them into meaningful messages. With his typical and ironically down-to-earth humor, Kamont is quick to clarify that “No one pulls up a chair and starts shooting the shit.” Matthew Kamont, Lehigh Valley Medium What’s That Like?
